After a long and complicated day of travel, we ended up
here. The day started with us dropping off the dogs, then driving to
John's workplace in Peabody for an afternoon telecon with NASA, then meeting
Chris for dinner at UNO's.
Upon arriving at Logan Airport in Boston, we then learned that our
departure was delayed by 3 hours!
We finally arrived in Dublin, and SPRINTED through the airport to catch
the connecting flight to Kerry airport. We arrived, and so did our
luggage.
A taxi ride later, and we could finally say "we made it!"
For those that might be curious, we also created a page
that shows each of the bed and breakfasts that we stayed at. Check the
links at the top of the page to find it.
It was a short walk into the town of Killarney, where we
spent a few hours after arrival.
| |
This is College Street, where we did some shopping and
currency exchange at a local bank. We held off on buying too much, as it
was our first day there. We ended up regretting that a little bit, as
the wool shop at the end of this street was better than anything else we
found in Dublin at the end of the trip.
In the distance on the left side is Tattler Jack's, where
we had dinner that night and listened to our first bit of Irish music.
AMAZINGLY, mixed in with the songs, the entertainer did a Willie Nelson
tune, and somebody stepped forward to sing a Johnny Cash song.
You can see Tracy in the foreground, wearing a bright orange NASA shirt
John had picked up for her.
The weather was just a slight bit misty, and hinted of rain
to come, so Tracy picked up an umbrella. It turns out, this was the
wettest day of the whole trip!
We were extremely lucky!
Before dinner, we had to go back to the B&B
to crash for a couple of hours. It was a long trip to get there, and
we were fighting against a 5 hour jet lag.
